A few years ago, during covid-19, I had a conversation with my aunt who is a widower and we started to discuss how it is difficult to socialize when you are single, older and especially over 60. I said that we shall build a community but it turned out to be too much of a burden for me because I don’t stick with a routine. I designed the website and let it sleep until now, but I want to restart it as a community platform where seamstresses and designers can meet to design and make fashion for people over 60s. The Reddit community is the way to keep everyone together and discuss how we can envision fashion for people in and over their 60s.
The community is in French, as is part of my blog and part of my writing. The brand Sexagenaire is in the US and I plan to develop it with French seamstresses, designers, fabrics, styles, accessories, etc… This is a work in progress but if you want to participate in this project, you are welcome.
There is a sister community called sexagenaires. I created it to protect the brand.
